PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT

Prudential Assurance Ltd. London, UK

Contractor (September 2000 – March 2001)

Initially contracted to Prudential as part of a project team within their General Insurance division. Initial role was to assist in a closure and benefits review of a large-scale transformation project. Required me to undertake a variety of tasks including process analysis, workflow sampling, benefits analysis, project planning/management and report writing. Following the benefits review work I was retained to perform several additional pieces of work within their business development team. The work included the production of updated disaster recovery processes and procedures for the new organisation and an analysis and mapping of their telephony architecture to update their systems documentation.

Working for Prudential provided me with an opportunity to gain valuable experience of the Insurance market and of large-scale organisational transformation.

Ericsson Communications Ltd. Auckland, NZ

Contractor (November 1999 – July 2000)

Contracted to perform feasibility studies for their potential customers in order to establish the opportunity that Ericssons’ products presented for them. The result was the delivery of business cases based on the customers’ systems and processes including an assessment of the potential for the improvement of systems and processes if the selected products were implemented. Analysis was based on BPR and systems methodologies supported by appropriate systems and process analysis tools and techniques. The primary outputs of the analyses were entity-state diagrams, data-flow diagrams, process summaries and detailed multi-level process maps including time-based cost assessments of the processes. The products where then conceptually applied to the processes and the changes/improvements were mapped, detailed and quantified.

Working at Ericsson gave me an opportunity to learn a great deal about the telecommunications market place and technologies such as: Bluetooth, WAP, GPRS and CDMA.
