Key Responsibilities

• From early April to June while at TransACT as a contractor, I successfully managed the Remedy ARS system implementation. This system interfaced into HP Openview Network Node Manager (for the monitoring of network faults), ESRI (GIS) and other NTE (network terminating equipment) databases in order to capture network asset information
• Meet with TransACT key stakeholders for requirements gathering and analysis.
• Research product suites that match TransACT’s current and proposed business requirements.
• Document an Expression of Interest / Request for Quote for the implementation of service management products. These products cover elements of TransACT’s business that include incident/problem management, asset/inventory management, SLA management and change management.
• Manage the closed vendor evaluation process and make recommendation to TransACT.
• Project manage the implementation with the selected vendor and TransACT staff.
• Negotiate on behalf of TransACT the maintenance agreement with the selected vendor.
• General project management during project implementation including:

• Meet with vendor to establish business rules and priorities.
• Run the project according to best practice methodology focussing on the nine core elements of project management. These are the management of integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk and procurement.
• Identify major tasks and dates for the project and confirm with vendor.
• Provide overall project strategy and project plan showing resource allocation; liaise with technical resources and vendor Project Manager.
• Help identify what TransACT staff are required to assist with the implementation.
• Combine the interactivity of all project components.
• Gain the understanding of the vendor business objectives, practices and current service management product information.
• Limit any negative impacts on existing services during the start-up and Go Live
• Communicate TransACT’s approach and methodologies to the vendor.
• Identify immediate priorities to be addressed during the project and resource appropriately.
• Identify future service management priorities for TransACT.
• Determine staff structure and reporting paths for all related staff for both TransACT and the vendor.
• Maintain issues log and change requests for weekly status report.
• Deliverables included the PMP, contract / SLA agreement, project schedule, weekly status report, project review / post mortem, etc.

• Project manage Peace Software’s Project THOR (joint partnership between Peace, Country Energy and PriceWaterhouseCoopers) deliverables and responsibilities.
• Project manage Peace staff for the 3 Project Thor milestones – Energy 6.2 installation (complete mid October), Upgrade to Energy 6.3 to cater for Full Retail Contestability functional requirements (complete January 1, 2002) and plan CIS Integration (mid 2002). I left just as this work was commencing.
• Establishing client signoff and acceptance of Peace Software Project Office deliverables.
• General project management including:

• Supervise twenty plus (25+) Peace staff onsite and a Testing Manager with eight (8) testers
• Weekly status reports sent to client and other Peace PMs
• Attend meetings as the Peace Software representative
• Weekly teleconference with Auckland Internal Project Manager and other relevant Peace staff
• Escalation point for staff
• Conduct performance and salary appraisals/reviews
• Documentation in place to track and coordinate all Peace staff expenses, verify client invoices, coordinate travel arrangements, including Visa status’, resourcing, etc.
• Milestoned documentation produced at a high quality with the required client signoff (to mitigate risk, gain authorisation and closure)
• Production of project management documentation including: Project Schedule (Gantt Chart), Statements of Work, Project Charter, Project Management Plan, etc.

• Ensuring that Country Energy remains a Peace referenceable site
• Responsible for Peace staff whose duties include:

• Implementation of client interfaces to Energy
• Data Conversion
• Onsite Development work
• Country Energy User and Administrator Training
• Technical Analysis
• Country Energy Business Process documenting
• System, Integrated, Infrastructure and User Acceptance Testing
• Defect resolution

Key Responsibilities

• Remotely project manage Project Wolverine (Vancouver, BC, Canada, while site is in Detroit, Michigan, USA)
• Establishing client signoff and acceptance of Statement of Works, Acceptance Certificates, etc.
• General project management including:

• Daily teleconference with Peace staff onsite
• Weekly status reports sent to client and other Peace PMs
• Periodic discussion with Nordic VP(s) at least twice a week via teleconference
• Weekly teleconference with Auckland Internal Project Manager and Peace staff onsite
• Documentation in place to track and coordinate all Peace staff expenses, verify client invoices, coordinate travel arrangements, including Visa status’, resourcing, etc.
• Detailed documentation with respect to minuted Nordic meetings, both internal and external
• Documentation produced at a high quality with the required client signoff (to mitigate risk, gain authorization and closure)
• Perform site visit when necessary

• Ensuring that Nordic remains a Peace referenceable site
• Responsible for Peace staff of three (3) whose duties include:

• Implementation of the 867/EDI, Remittance and MV90 interfaces to Energy
• Customisation of Marketing/Ad Hoc reports
• Manage the Cancel/Rebill process
• Other client work requests such as bill synchronization, 810, 814 and accounting package interface information, etc.
• User Requirements Specification (URS) production and general onsite support work as required

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate workflows with Auckland Internal Project Managers and the Development Team Project Manager.
• Agree the handover process with Development and Testing

Position Description of day-to-day responsibilities:

• Negotiate client contracts and project manage the solution design in major tenders
• Project manage the implementation of major and complex IT&T projects
• Act as Project Manager, Account Manager, Business Development Manager and Service Manager during project implementation
• Provide high level advice to Senior Management on business and sales strategy
• Negotiate tenders and contracts with clients, with a focus on maximising business performance for major Queensland and interstate opportunities
• Regular interstate travel in support of business development and project implementation activities
• Develop business, pricing and overall solution strategies (including solution assurance) for major business projects in cooperation with Account Teams, Business Development Managers and Product Managers
• Manage external IT business partners for large scale IT projects
• Advise Senior Project Staff and Account Managers on all aspects of successful project creation, costing, profitability and implementation
• Promote and apply a total CITEC approach for all products and services and educate and assist all areas of CITEC in this regard
• Build relationships with clients, partners and internal business areas
• Ensure the Quality Management Systems (AIPM Level 6) and procedures are followed for tasks undertaken and take responsibility for identifying improvements to these procedures
• Demonstrate experience in a project management role in complex IT&T, multiple service/product projects from pre-sales, through implementation to system acceptance
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of IT&T infrastructure technologies and in the application of such technologies and services in providing solutions to client’s business needs
• Demonstrate first hand experience in tender, contract and Service Level Agreement negotiations
• Demonstrate understanding of the principles and techniques of IT&T Project Management
• Excellent written and oral communications skills and well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate, communicate, liaise, and advise clients, management and staff at all levels

Tenders/bids worked on include: DETIR, auDA, Powercoal, EnergyAustralia, Brisbane City Council, Comcare, Attorney General’s Department, Australian Protective Services and the National Museum of Australia.

• Acting as Project Manager for the client, QPTC, my duties include: writing up the tender specifications; administering the closed tender; auditing the tender replies; making a tender recommendation to the client; drawing up the legal contract with selected tenderer; project managing the entire scope of works with Johnson Controls and the client to ensure that the project remained ontime and well within the budget price. Practical completion was achieved September 30, 1999 with defects follow-up completed in December

• Acting as Year 2000 Project Manager for the client, AMP, my duties include: ensuring Y2K readiness of properties owned and/or maintained by the client and these include: AMP Place, Waterfront Place, Comalco, Eagle Street Pier, Santos House, IBM House, Coronation Drive Office Park, Mt. Ommaney, Garden City and Pacific Fair Shopping Centres and the numerous locations of AMP offices; conducting Y2K audits and tests at these premises; dealing with vendors, manufacturers and landlords; paperwork and reporting such as contingency plans

• Acting as Regional Project Manager for the client, Qantas, my duties included: conducting audits of Qantas property, both airports and travel centres; asset registering and tagging specific systems; responsible for my team plus another; all paperwork and reporting to the National Project Manager in Sydney

• Acting as Regional Project Manager for the client, Qantas, my duties included: conducting audits of Qantas property, both airports and travel centres, looking specifically at the Y2K impact of embedded systems; performing Y2K tests; responsible for all paperwork and reporting to the National Project Manager in Sydney
