The 12 companies resulted from the privatisation project of the government owned Water and Electricity Department - a major project involving the first privatisation in the UAE. A 3 stage project:
  • The first stage was to analyze and specify the business requirements for a financial accounting system for ADWEA. This involved identifying the important elements of financial accounting from the existing accounting staff;
  • The second stage involved the selection of financial systems for the 12 newly privatized entities. The work involved creating the Request for Proposal, and evaluating the proposals received. The software selected was Oracle Financials. Assisted management in the selection of the software, which was the most appropriate to their needs;
  • The third stage of the project involved the implementation of 5 accounting modules of Oracle Financials – GL, AP, Purchasing, Cash Management, Financial Statement Generator reporting tool and the implementation of a bespoke Payroll system into the 12 companies. Assisted in the design of Chart of Accounts, project management, change management, process development, development of user procedures, user acceptance testing for all the modules and contingency plans.
