I write to express my interest in being a productive resource in 'CRM and business development’ as that is what I enjoy doing, and I hope that my hard working disposition coupled with relevant experience will get me at least an opportunity to present my credentials one-on-one.

Interned at PricewaterhouseCoopers, I completed my Chartered Accountancy certification after graduating with an Honors degree in Commerce and achieving an All India merit position at high school.

Seven years at Sheraton led to an opportunity to engineer a Customer Management system at their flagship property in India, leveraging existing Customer relationships, improving marketing ROI and maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage. Whilst at their two main properties, my key responsibility was to manage all finance functions, leading a team of 100+, assessing the up-side potential of unit investment opportunities, negotiating complex agreements (including prepared the financial viability for restructuring the ‘deal’ with the franchised property in Nepal), developing and presenting Business Plans to the Chairman.

This was followed by heading a start-up IT company focussing on Oracle database and tools - three years before Oracle Corp opened their office in India. Pioneered and marketed ‘Training in Oracle RDBMS’. Some key financial software solutions led include integrated suite of ERP Applications and Materials Management, Business Intelligence & Cost Management systems, technology alternatives impacting Customer Satisfaction and revenue maximization, and other Front and Back Office software applications across multiple verticals.

WORK SUMMARY

Managed the finance and technology function, recommending strategies for customer retention at two premier hotels in India; Responsible for investments, complex financial negotiations, and presenting Business Plans to Chairman.

Headed a start-up company focusing on Oracle technology- three years before Oracle Corp opened office in India.

Developed a CRM solution for India’s premier Sheraton hotel that tracks managers’ responsiveness to guests’ perceptions, improves organizational performance leading to improved guest satisfaction and marketing ROI, resulting in higher revenue.

Identifying emerging market opportunities and directing product development using state-of-the-art technology, behavioral psychology and marketplace ground rules.

Pioneered Oracle RDBMS training in India (1989). 5000+ engineers undertook this training from our Company, in the first three years of launch and was instrumental in raising awareness and demand for Oracle products in India.

Preparing business intelligence systems leveraging operational execution to IT investments already made.

Led a 5 person team to design a Business Operations System to manage costs and increase operational efficiency at ITC Sheraton. This system spanned multiple areas and tied to existing financial and costing systems. In year 1, operating margins improved by 7%.

FINANCIAL AND MANAGEMENT CONTROL

Maintained and enhanced systems for tighter financial control, interpreting operating costs for initiating pro-active management action, improving cash systems and acting as liaison between Front Office, Audit and Back Office.

Led a 10 person team to develop an integrated & scaleable suite of ERP applications that encompassed General Ledger & Financial Reporting, Purchasing, Inventory, Payables, Sales Orders, Shipping, Receivables, Cash and Bank including Reconciliation, Payroll.

Combining business and knowledge management with technology for collaborative learning.

(i) Conducted India’s first IT-knowledge seminars by James Martin in 1996, in multiple cities, resulting in profit of 30%;
