Technical Consultant (CRM Practice - Onyx) 1/2001 – 3/2001
- Created ASP pages that augment sales incidents with survey feature. These pages are similar to the surveys that are attached to the Companies and Individuals records that come out of the box for the Onyx Employee Portal. Creation of this functionality required creating tables, triggers and stored procedures that mirror the functionality of the surveys owned by the Individuals and companies. Made extensive use of JavaScript and CSS to implement this functionality.
- Identified the existing business rules and customized the stored procedures responsible for the sales, support and service incidents in the Onyx database based on those business rules.
- Involved in setting up the Log Shipping process that creates a directory structure on the SQL Server machine for backup of the database and sets up jobs that will backup the Onyx, Customer Portal and Membership databases at scheduled intervals
- Installed, configured and customized the Onyx Customer Portal and Onyx Employee Portal package (web based CRM products of Onyx) for a leading provider of comprehensive project management, control and execution software. The customizations to the package were based on the business rules that were identified during the solutions definition process. The customizations included making modifications to the stored procedures that have been written for a SQL Server 7.0 database and making changes to the ASP pages that are called by the IIS 5.0.
- Involved in migrating the CRM application from Win NT 4.0 operating system to Win 2000 operating system. This involved formatting the machine, installing Windows 2000 operating system, installing Site Server, Commerce Server, SQL Server on Windows 2000 and mapping all the Onyx Customer Portal users in the Onyx Customer Membership to the Site Server membership instance by creating an Active User Object. Also created the Commerce Server Site, which was the foundation on which other Onyx Customer Portal ASP pages were built.
- Created a COM component that was used to validate the access permissions of the research reports for different users. This component is used by the IIS for the web based CRM application. Also made modifications to the system parameters and national language table in the Onyx database to include additional tabs on the Onyx thick client.
- Made customizations to the stored procedures of incident inserts for Onyx’s Email Agent so that an automatic email is sent back to the user based on the domain from which the email originated.
- Integrated Onyx’s EnCyc product functionality with Onyx Customer Center. This integration allows an Onyx user to find a list of all the products in the EnCyc database that are related to a specific literature item.

- Created ASP pages that are used in a wireless application to retrieve the data from an exchange mailbox. The connection to the Microsoft Exchange mailbox is made using exOLEDB as a data source provider. The information stored in the mailbox is retrieved using different URN (Unique resource namespace) schemas. The middle tier component houses the code for data retrieval and updates and passes the data back to the asp pages in the form of text string by parsing through the record set object that contains XML data. The string data returned to the client is again converted to XML and is transformed using XSL style sheets.
- Created ASP pages those are part of the presentation layer for a 3-tiered multilingual e-commerce application. These asp pages present the data to the user after accessing it from the database using Visual Basic objects. The session information for the user is managed using session parameters that are stored in the session object. The information is passed from one page to the other page using the session object that has been created in Visual Basic. The validation and update of the data entered by the user is done on the same page by posting the information back to the form. All the validation is done on the server side.
- Designed the SQL Server 7.0 database for a multilingual e-commerce application that is web based and will be used by different kinds of users depending on their permissions to view and modify the information in the database. Involved in design of the database schema and creating maintenance scripts. Created a number of stored procedures that are accessed by VB objects.
- Incorporated the business services component developed for a web-based Money Management System into the presentation layer by using ASP. The user information for the session was tracked using cookies.
- Involved in debugging the business component that was developed using Visual Basic 6.0. The functionality of the business component included creating, modifying and updating the information for a user. Role-based security was used for accessing and making changes to the data.

Systems Analyst 2/1999 – 5/2000
- Developed the front-end of a client/server application that is being used by Fixed Income traders to select the most optimal list of securities for trading based on the list of criteria entered by the trader.
- The traders can specify different parameters like the duration, the yield to maturity, coupon rate and the range of maturity date for the bond. The results returned by the generated query are displayed to the bond traders on ProtoView’s Grid Control and show the CUSIP number and the fund that hold the particular security. The trader can select the funds that they might be interested in reallocating and specify the order of priority. The information of the selected funds and their respective CUSIPS is sent to an Excel spreadsheet to find the optimal list for trading. The application supports both mortgage backed and non-mortgage backed trades and supports two legs of trade.
- The application was developed using VB 5.0 and made extensive use of COM components. The data that is displayed to the user accesses data from an Oracle 7 database using ADO 1.5 and Microsoft's ODBC Driver for Oracle.
